Premika Varada Dashakam

Last month, we saw Premika Varada Ashtakam, a set of 8 shlokas on Sri Swamiji’s puja murthi, Sri Premika Varadan. Sri Swamiji has also composed a different set of 10 shlokas on Sri Premika Varadan. Reciting these 10 shlokas everyday will free the devotee from all his sins. The shlokas and their meaning are given below.

nUtanAmbara-suprItam nitya-nUtana-vigraham |
nUtana-kELi-lagnam tam prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who loves to wear new clothes everyday, the One who is forever glowing, the One who loves to sport creatively
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

mAdhurya-bhAva-sampOSham mAdhurI-virahAkShamam |
mAdhurya-leelayA duShTam prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who nurtures Madhurya Bhaava(pure love), the One whose separation causes intense suffering to Madhuri, the One who deals with wicked sportively,
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

dvAdasha-skandha samyukta-shukavAgamruta-priyam |
dvAdashAkShara mantrEDhyam prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who loves the nectar from Sri Suka’s lips that contains 12 cantos, the One who is the essence of the 12 syllabled mantra
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

sarvam sankalpa mAtrENa sAdhayitvApi leelayA |
nirliptam gUDhamAhAtmyam prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who accomplishes tasks as a pastime just by mere thought, the One who is unassuming and keeps his powers veiled,
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

svajanEbhyO vinApEkSham anantajnAnadAyinam |
vEdavEdyam dayAmbOdhim prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who, without considering any criteria, bestows infinite knowledge on his devotees, the One who is extolled in Vedas, the embodiment of kindness.
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

maitryAsaktam svabhrityEShu shritEShu krupayA thadA |
pashyatsu-mAtruvatsnigdham prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who, out of compassion, treats his kith and those who have surrendered to Him as friends, the One who looks at them with motherly affection.
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

sugandha-thaila-tAmbUla-lEpasrak-mallikAdiShu |
atyanta-prIti-samyuktam prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who loves to adorn fragrant oil, have betel nut and leaves, jasmine garlands, etc
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

vyatyastapAdam gOpAlam sphuran-makara-kuNDalam |
chinmayam taptahEmAbham prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who is standing cross-legged, the cowherd boy wearing crocodile shaped shining earrings,
The one who is pure bliss personified and has the complexion of molten gold,
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

kishOrO mugdhabAlO vA yOgI jnAnIti vA puna: |
yuvA kAmIti durgnEyam prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

Is he an adolescent or an innocent boy, or is he a Yogi or a Jnani? It is difficult to understand this boy.
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

bhaktabrundam kShaNam tyaktum ashaktam prEmatatparam |
muraLIdhara-rUpamcha prEmikavaradam bhajE ||

The One who cannot bear separation from his devotees even for a moment, the embodiment of love – the beautiful form of Muralidhara,
To that Premika Varada I surrender!

dashakam prAtarutthAya prEmikavaradasya yO |
paThEnnityam sa vai bhakta: sarvapApai: pramucyatE ||

The one who recites this decad on Premika Varada everyday, that devotee is freed from all his sins!
