On Friday, April 22nd, the Houston Namadwaar performed an Akhanda Nama Sankirtan between 8 am and 4 pm. The Akhanda Nama was a special prayer for rains in the drought-ridden Texas area that had given rise to wild forest fires, which went out of control thanks to the high temperatures and lack of rains.
The Governor of Texas, Rick Perry marked the days (from Friday through Sunday) as ‘days of prayer’ and had appealed to all religious communities to perform prayers for rains. Accordingly, the Namadwaar performed prayers with Mahamantra.
On Saturday, as if, answering the prayers, rain gods were pleased and provided pleasant showers over Texas, giving reprieve to the residents.
It is a surprise, If rain doesn’t come even after we chant Nama. As Guruji said, anything will happen, if Nama chanted.
