Discourse at Sri Lakshmi Temple Ashland MA

The devotees at Sri Lakshmi Temple in Ashland chanced to attend two sessions of “Eternal Wisdom from Srimad Bhagavatam” – one on Saturday the 30th of January morning and another on Sunday Jan 31st evening at 4:00 pm.  On the first day, Sri Ramanujamji discussed the beauty of Bhagavatam followed by the greatness of Bhagavatam, as mentioned in Padma Purana, narrating the story of Bhakti.

On Sunday, Sri Ramanujam planned to narrate Ambareesha Charitra, but the interest of the audience and the beauty of the subject made him expound more on the greatness and sweetness of Bhagavatam.   He spoke on the grace of the Lord in our lives, and how every event and incident of our life has indeed pre-orchestrated by God.  All we have to do is to enjoy the grace and express our gratitude to Him by the means of chanting the Divine Names, he said.

One of the executives of the temple, after listening to the greatness of Srimad Bhagavatam on the first day, went home and realized that she had the grantha in her Puja.  She started reading it the same day.  The very next day, she was emotionally moved in the excitement of having found a great treasure at her own home, for she very much enjoyed reading the Text.

All the attendees felt that the contents of the lecture were touching as well as easily understandable, and wanted a full-fledged Bhagavata Saptaham at the temple.
