On August 13th, about 5 families joined the reisdence of Sri Aravind and Mrs. Geetha Aravind at Aletmonte Springs (near Orlando) for a Janmashtami satsang.
The satsang started with nama sankeertan of the Hare Rama Maha Mantra, followed by several bhajans on Sri Krishna, his leela’s, his antics, his beauty and his grace.
Sri Aravind gave a discourse emphasizing on the need for Nama Sankirtan in this kali yuga and mentioned that there is yet another easier path to attain the Lord, that is the path of Katha Sharavanam. He spoke on the greatness of Srimad Bhagavatam and talked about the plays and pastimes of Lord Krishna.
Everyone sang the ‘Barhapeetam..’ sloka from Srimad Bhagavatam.
On August 14th, there was another satsang in the same area. About 20 devotees met at the residence of Sri Madhanagopal. The satsang started with Nama Sankeertan of Hare Rama Mahamantra, followed by an assortment of several enchanting bhajans.
Bhajans on Sri Krishna, his leela, Sriman Narayana, Sri Rama and the ever adorable Panduranga were sung. Anand ji, one of the satsang members, led the bhajans in his own inimitable style.
After a very intense session of Bhajans, Sri Aravind discoursed on Srimad Bhagavatam.
A Parayanam of the birth of Lord Sri Krishna and also the Parayanam of the divinely melodious ‘Venu Geetam’ was also performed.
The satsang concluded with Nama Sankeertan and distribution of sumptuous Prasad. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the satsang and the bhajans.
