By the immense grace of Sri Swamiji, Krishna Jayanthi Utsav was celebrated in a grand manner from August 9th 2012 – August 17th 2012 at the residence of Sri.Srinivasamurthy and Mrs.Ramya Srinivasan in South San Jose. On the first day of Utsav, being the auspicious day of Gokulastami, Mahamantra was chanted for two hours followed by the recital of the first three chapters of slokas from ten canto of Srimad Bhagavatam commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna. Following this, kirtans on Lord Krishna’s birth were rendered and the first day celebrations concluded with Dolotsavam. The divine names were chanted and kirtans composed by Sri Swamiji and Ashtapatis were sung during all days of the utsav. The fifth day of the Utsav was Govindapattabishekam – the auspicious day when Lord Krishna was conferred the name “Govinda”. On this day, along with Mahamantra, slokas from Srimad Bhagavatham describing the Govardhana Leela was recited and the name “Govinda” was incessantly chanted. The ten day Utsav concluded with a grand Radha kalyanam and twenty five people enthusiastically participated. All the devotees in Bay Area attended the utsav joyfully on all the ten days.
