Bharata Pradakshina – Punjab

The divine soil of Bharat has been fertile with innumerable saints from time immemorial. Such rare gems have been born all over Bharat. Many of them sang the glories of the Lord and were a living embodiment of Bhakti (devotion). The remarkable aspect of this is that although many of these saints were born in different centuries, their sayings have been consistent. Their only preaching to mankind is to chant the Names of the Lord.
In this Bharata Pradakshina series, we periodically see briefly how every Indian state has been graced by ‘bhakta’ saints who glorified the easiest and the most effective path of chanting the Lord’s Names. This month, let us go to Punjab….

News and events of the month

Houston Namadwaar celebrated Navaratri with Akhanda Nama on October 16, Saturday, from 7 AM to 12 Noon. This was followed by a short talk by Sri Jeevanji. Namadwaar also boasted a Bommai Kolu (doll display) throughout the nine-day festival. A model of HH Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji’s Madhurapuri Ashram was also part of the Golu. Read more here….

Dallas GOD satsang celebrated Navaratri with a special satsang on Oct 16 at Fort Montessori, a school run by Sri Meyyappan and Smt. Uma Meyyappan. Read about this special Navaratri Satsang.  Read more here….

The Chicago Gopa Kuteeram program’s first anniversary was celebrated in grandeur on Oct 23. The community center was transformed into Brindavan as the little Gopas and Gopis danced and sang, showcasing all that they had learned in the past year, while depicting Krishna’s lilas. The kids also performed a play, Naraharisonar, and participated in many games. Read more…

Seattle GOD satsang celebrated its Annual Balagurukulam day on Oct 30 at Vedic Cultural Center, Sammamish, WA. The event theme was ‘Bonding Through Srimad Bhagavatam’. The children wore T-shirts with their pseudonyms which were characters from Srimad Bhagavatam. Read more…
