Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Jayanthi Utsav and Radha Kalyanam at Namadwaar, Houston Tx

During the month of March, Houston Namadwaar celebrated the three-day Utsav for Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Jayanti and Houston Namadwaar’s 12th Anniversary.

For four weeks leading up to the celebrations, a small part of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s Charitram was narrated as a katha each week. These events culminated on Friday, March 18th. This day also consisted of Akhanda Nama chanting by 10 devotees from 10am to 6pm.

The next day began with the chanting of Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam by 45 devotees and singing of Sri Madhurageethams. Later in the day, children from Houston Gopa Kuteeram’s Sloka and Harikatha Clubs recited the slokas and narrated the katha they had learned during the year. Following these, 90 devotees gathered to celebrate the Divine Couple’s Janavasam, the procession where the bridegroom is welcomed by the bride’s family. The procession was complete with Krishna’s Cottage Band playing the tunes while the garlands were exchanged by the divine couple. The evening continued with singing of Sri Madhurageethams and celebration with fireworks.

Sri Radha Madhav Vivah celebrations continued on the final day of the Utsav with 125 devotees joining. The celebrations included Krishna’s Cottage Youth group rendering the Ashtapadis and Madhurageethams during the wedding ceremony. The Utsav concluded with prasadam for the devotees and prayers to Aishwarya Srinivasa Perumal, the Divine Couple and our Guru Maharaj to continue showering their grace upon us.
