“Gokulam” – the residence of Sri Janakiraman and Smt. Jayanti Janakiraman – located in Jafferkhanpet, Chennai, rightly turned into “Premika Bhavanam” in 1992 when Sri Swamiji was offered the first floor of ‘Gokulam’ to live in and conduct satsang. Soon Sri Swamiji’s love, Lord Sri Premika Srinivasan, arrived here from Mahabalipuram. Overnight Jayantiji and Janakiramanji built the altar themselves, brick by brick, untiringly, their hearts brimming with joy and love. And, unplanned, Lord Premika Srinivasan was installed on the holy day of Vijayadasami! – the most auspicious day for Perumal – amidst Nama and Vedic chanting! Sri Swamiji, while speaking of the deep compassion of the Lord, said, “In this age when people share space and live in apartments our Srinivasa Perumal has also come to live on the first floor amidst His people! The Lord has no Dwajasthamba and other things as in a temple. He is very easily available here.” Gokulam turned into Premika Bhavanam with the coming of the Guru and naturally Hari following suit!
Lord Sri Premika Srinivasan is the granter of not just worldly comforts, but He is also Moksha-daata! One morning when Jayantiji came up to the first floor to inform of the demise of lady devotee even before she could speak Sri Swamiji held up his hand and said, “Yes, I know. Last night she mingled with Srinivasa Perumal here.”
Regular puja according to Bhagavata dharma is performed here. It is open from 8 am to 11 am and from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Vijayadasami – day of installation, Vaishnava ekadasi, Vaikunta ekadasi, Saturdays in the month of Purattasi, Mahan Ammalu ammal’s Vaikunta vijayam are all celebrated here.
