'Krishnarpanam'- A three day lecture series on Sri Krishna Lila in Houston

Sri Ramanujamji conducted a three day discourse series on Sri Krishna Lila at three different Houston area residences from Friday, November 16th 2012 to Sunday, November 18th 2012.

The first satsang was held at the residence of Sri Satheesh Kumar and Smt. Karthey in Sugar Land, TX. Here Sri Ramanujamji spoke about the greatness of Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavata Dharma. Then he went on to speak briefly about the various devotee charitrams in Bhagavatam and finally concluded the satsang with Sri Krishna Jananam (the story of Lord Krishna’s birth).

The second day’s event was held at the residence of Sri Ganesh Raghu and Smt. Srimathy, also in Sugar Land. The hosts had beautifully presented the Annakoototsavam that the Gopas and Gopis of Vrindavan had performed for Govardhan Maharaj with offerings of various kinds of food. Sri Ramanujamji read the Annakoototsavam chapter from Srimad Bhagavatam, which was followed by devotees rendering kirtans extolling the Govardhana Lila of Sri Krishna. The celebration was followed by a wonderful discourse by Sri Ramanujamji about the astounding Govardhana Lila, where the Lord Himself became a devotee of His devotees, and protected His dear ones from the wrath of Indra.

The final day’s satsang was held at the residence of Sri Jeevan Nair and Smt. Lekshmi in Pearland TX. Sri Ramanujamji concluded the three-day series on an auspicious note with the exposition of Rukmini Kalyanam, the wonderfully romantic story of Rukmini Devi’s marriage with Lord Sri Krishna that underscores the important role that shravanam (listening to the Lord’s lilas) plays in enhancing the love of the Lord in the devotees.

After the discourse, Sri Ramanujamji performed the marriage of Lord Sri Krishna with Rukmini Devi as several kirtans were sung by devotees. The satsang concluded with Dolotsavam, which is putting the Lord to bed. Numerous devotees attended the discourses on all three days and enjoyed the nectar of Srimad Bhagavatam.
