Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra 2024 at Johns Creek, GA

By the immense grace of Sri Jagannath Swamy Parivar, Sri Takurji and Sri Swamiji, Atlanta Namadwaar held Sri Jagannath Swamy Rath Yatra on the 2nd June 2024 at Cauley Creek Park, Johns Creek, GA

The preparations for the event began many days ahead of the grant event. On June 1st, devotees gathered to get the Rath ready for the event. On the morning of the 2nd, the decoration team took over and beautified the Rath to seat the Lord. Sri Jagannath ji Parivar, dressed in an olive green and white resplendent attire with coordinating jewelry arrived in a limousine on the morning of 2nd to the arena. Sri Jagannath ji Parivar were welcomed with chanting of Mahamantra by enthusiastic team of men and women.

Jagannath Parivar was seated on the Rath, along with the picture and Holy Padukas of Sri Swamiji. Priests from Sri Hanuman Mandir offered prayers to the Lordships and the Rath seeking blessings for a successful Rath yatra. Coconuts and Pumpkins were broken in front of the Rath before the commencement of the Rath Yatra.

Mr. Himanshu Karnal – Johns Creek Planning Commissioner was the other Honorary guest who commenced the event. Ashwin Ramaswami, the young democrat candidate running for the State attended the event seeking the blessings of Jagannath Parivar.

The Rath carrying the Lordships went around the park on this beautiful sunny day. Varuna Bhagavan also joined the Rath Yatra for a moment, sprinkling his blessing on the devotees. Devotees young and old were dressed in bright and beautiful traditional attire. Devotees took turns to sweep the path of the Rath. Everybody assembled joyfully chanted Nama and danced in front of the Rath. Gopakuteeram kids performed their rehearsed dance in front of the Parivar. Devotees got a wonderful opportunity to pull the rath and seek blessings of the Lordship. The Rath Yatra concluded with Harathi and Pushpa Varsham. The Lordships were then taken inside a covered area and seated for the Grand Chappan Bhog offering that was very lovingly made the devout Bhaktas. A large variety of food, fruits and snacks were offered to the Lordships. We had a huge turnout of around 300 bhakthas who participated in the event and enjoyed Lord’s prasadam.

The dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a grand success was honored and lunch prasadham was served for all the guests.
