wordly pleasures | swamiji

One who is attached to worldly pleasures does worship, japa, yoga, sacrificial rites, charity, renovation of temples, annadana etc with the sole intention of attaining the desired fruits. He will be utterly disappointed and sad if he does not attain the desired result.

Similarly a Sadhak who does Sadhana to attain jnana (knowledge) should also perform worship, japa, yoga, sacrificial rites, charity, renovation of temples, annadana etc with the sole intention of controlling mind and bring it to state of one-pointedness.

If that does not happen he should understand that he has not performed the above properly and should try to do them properly atleast from then on. | – HH Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
