yasya sakshaat bhagavati | bhagavatam

Yasya saakshaat Bhagavati jnaanadeepaprade Gurou 
martyaasadheeh srutam tasya sarvam kunjarasouchavat 

 
The scriptural study and the knowledge earned through it would fail in its purpose, just as the bath given to the elephant (which throws sand on its head soon after the bath), if a disciple deems his Guru to be a mere man and fails to comprehend him as verily the manifestation of the Lord Himself bringing the Light of Knowledge.
