By the boundless grace of our beloved Sadguru Maharaj Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji, and Sri Madhuri Sakhi sametha Premika Varada Thakurji, Minneapolis GOD Satsang celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami Utsav with much grandeur on September 2nd at the residence of Priya ji and Vasu ji in Woodbury, MN.
Janmashtami Utsav started auspiciously at 3:30 pm CST with Nama Sankeertanam, followed by Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanam led by Gopakuteeram kids and other Satsangis
Following Sahasranama parayanam, bhagavathas lead Guru Kirtans and Madhurageethams. At around 5 pm, all bhaktas recited Srimad Bhagavatam – Sri Krishna Jananam – (Canto 10 Chapter 3) followed by Krishna Janana Madhurageethams. We later celebrated Nandotsavam, with Madhurageetams, and a satsangi dressed up as Nandababa bringing in little Krishna to the thottil. Gopakuteeram kids danced around the decorated Thottil with our kutti Krishna in it, singing various namavalis and dancing with kolAttam sticks.
We wrapped up the Janmashtami satsang with Hanumath Utsavam, Mangala Harathi, and Mahamantra Kirtan. A variety of bhakshanams, fruits, chocolates, and flowers were offered to the Newborn Lord. Over 50 bhaktas from different parts of Twin Cities participated in Sri Krishna Janmashtami utsav and got the blessings of our dear Sri Thakurji and Sri Guruji.
