The Shock of Grace

Sri Swamiji had been to Thiruvannamalai for a few days. At Thiruvannamalai, Sri Swamiji had severe leg pain. Shri Ramana Ganesh who was a student in the Ashram Veda patasala is now residing in Thiruvannamalai. He offered to our Sri Swamiji to do leg massage to lessen the pain. Sri Swamiji consented to his request. Shri Ramana Ganesh was sincerely doing the massage and suddenly he stopped. There was a look of surprise bordering over a shock. He was holding his right hand and was softly massaging his own hand then!

Sri Swamiji looked at him with tender affection and asked him what the matter was! Ramana Ganesh took a few moments to find his words before responding.

He said with a shadow of fear in his voice, “Swamiji! While I was massaging, a few moments back I suddenly felt a strong current – like a shock flowing through my hands! Is there anything wrong?!”

Sri Swamiji smiled and in a soft tone said, “Do not fear! This does not happen often; In fact, this type of experience is really rare. This is a great blessing which will result in something very good for you in the future.”

The worried face of Ramana Ganesh immediately flowered into a joyous grateful smile, reflecting the gracious smile of the Master!
