Sri Ramanujamji landed in the USA in the beginning of February 2020. For the first month and a half, he traveled around the USA visiting devotees in various cities, enlivening their lives with Sri Swamiji’s inspiring message and his association.
When the Covid outbreak hit the US in the middle of March, he immediately began and completed a sampoorna Srimad Bhagavata Saptaham parayanam and Katha, which was broadcast all over North America from Namadwaar Dallas. This was the beginning of what was going to be over six months of incessant showers of satsangs and katha, indeed an extended online Utsav for devotees across North America and also other parts of the world.
After moving to Namadwaar Houston at the end of March, Sri Ramanujamji, along with Namadwaar Houston resident Sri Ramaswamyji, brought Sri Swamiji’s soothing grace to all devotees despite the difficult turn of events all around the world. Sheltered in the cool shade of Guru Maharaj’s krupa, these devotees felt indeed that these six months were a most blissful period. Through the daily kathas on a numerous topics from Srimad Bhagavatam, Srimad Ramayanam, Bhakta charitrams, Bhagavad Gita and more that reinforced faith, nourished bhakti / jnana / vairagya and inspired all in the path of Bhagavata dharma and prema; through talks and discussions on Intelligent Living that helped strengthen the mind and learn to lead balanced, stable, practical lives; through discussions about the grandness of Hinduism and its philosophies that enriched knowledge about our Dharma and enhanced awe for its depth, beauty and greatness; through moving bhajans and indelible, unique, Utsav and special occasion deepam celebrations – through all of these and more, these disciples of Sri Swamiji brought joy, meaning and love into everyone’s lives.
Come September, the call came from Sri Swamiji for them both to return home to his presence. In the days leading to their departure, a special Srinivasa Perumal satsang was held on Purattasi Saturday morning followed by an Anjaneya Utsav that same evening to conclude the six-month long, special, North-American Utsavam. On the last few days, Sri Srinivasa Mahatmyam katha, Satsangs with prayer kirtans of Sri Swamiji were conducted seeking His continued grace to grow devotion in us all and make it genuine, and to reminisce and be grateful for the immense fortune bestowed on us all.
Sri Ramanujamji and Sri Ramaswamyji left for Chennai from Houston on Sep 22, as devotee families from all around North America bid them a fond farewell, until their return, by Sri Swamiji’s grace.
