With Sri Swamiji’s grace, Guru Poornima was celebrated joyously at Houston Namadwaar from Friday July 19 through Monday July 22 2013. 12 hours Akhanda Nama was performed on all the 4 days.
On Friday evening, Sri Ramaswamiji gave a wonderful pravachan on Guru Mahima and everyone enjoyed a joyful DivyaNamam on Saturday evening. On Sunday evening the devotees did a samarpanam of Sri Swamiji’s kirtans to His Holy Padukas, with the Padukas placed on an Oonjal. As there were some non-Tamil devotees, Sriramji explained the meaning of each kirtan that was sung.
Since Monday marked the auspicious day of Guru Poornima, a joyous Paduka Purappadu around Namadwaar to the singing of kirtans on the Guru was celebrated in the evening and then completed the 4-day celebration with Anjaneya utsavam.
Many devotees from Houston as well as California and Dallas joined the celebrations on various days.
The 4 days were filled with remembering Sri Swamiji through His kirtans, through songs and stories that He enjoys, through the Mahamantra and through the presence of His Padukas.
