Chicago Gopa Kuteeram – Dec'10

The Chicago satsang had a wonderful Gopakuteeram event on the 19th of Deecmber’10. Around 6 families attended the event. With the advent of Margazhi month, the theme of this event was Music and Bhakthi. The event started by chanting the divine names of the lord. The kids were given an introduction on the auspiciousness of the month and why the theme was chosen for this event. This message was elaborated in the back to basics section. The kids learnt and sang a sweet sloka from Venu Geetham and also learnt a short bhajan. The story for the month was about how a miser became a true Bhaktha and the story also depicted how the Lord changed a miser Srinivasa Nayaka into a true bhaktha who came to be known as Purandarasar.The kids then had fun during the game time.They were given a minute to look at different God statues and then were asked to feel and identify the Gods blind folded. The event was concluded with the Nama chanting followed by Mangala Arathi.
