Sri Swamiji’s jayanthi was celebrated wonderfully at Houston Namadwaar on Sunday, November 8, 2015, in the presence of the Divine Padukas of Sri Swamiji.
Sri Swamiji’s favorite Mahamantra was chanted for a few hours in the morning. This was followed by archana to Sri Swamiji’s Padukas with Sri Swamiji’s Ashtottara Namavali. Then, guided by Sri Narayananji from Boston, kirtans on the Guru were sung, beautifully depicting each Divine Name in the Ashtottara Namavali. It was indeed a sublime and joyful celebration of the Guru.
Following this, a special occasion was celebrated. Sri Radha Devi was welcomed into Namadwaar in the form of Her lovely, tiny padams (Holy Feet). These padams, which were worshipped by Sri Swamiji at His Ashram near Chennai during this year’s Radhashtami celebrations there, were blessed for Houston Namadwaar by Sri Swamiji who said that it was verily Sri Radha Devi who was coming to Houston in that form. On this special occasion of the Guru’s jayanthi, it was only apt that Sri Radha Devi – who is none other than the Guru – was welcomed into Namadwaar.
Kirtans on Sri Radha Devi were sung joyfully and archana was performed to Her Divine Feet.
She is housed in a special trunk inside Namadwaar which will be opened for darshan only on special occasions.
