In the path of Karma, and in the path of formal worship (pooja), we find that there are a lot of restrictions related to cleanliness and purity of body. Whereas in the path of Dhyaana and in the path of Atma Vichaara, we find there are not much restrictions regarding the purity of body (ablutions). The reason for that is, while the activities in the path of karma and worship are more oriented towards the activities of the body, the path of Atma Vichaara and Dhyaana are more mind oriented.
