Gopakuteeram Annual Day Celebrations in Richmond, VA

Virginia Namadwaar conducts Gopa Kuteeram classes in two batches once a week. The GK session for 2016-2017 academic year concluded in a grand manner with the annual day celebrations on Saturday, June 3rd 2017. It was pleasure to watch the kids showcase their year-long learning. The first-batch kids recited slokas and sang Madhuragitams. They also spoke about the Dasavataram, the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu. The second batch of students also rendered Maduragitams and recited shlokas. All the kids delivered a speech on Bhaktavijayam. Each of them spoke about one Panduranga bhakta such as Naamadev, Eknath, Tukaram, Chokamela…etc. The audience enjoyed the kids’ presentations.

Tropjies were awarded to the children recognizing them individually. After the annual day program, kids’ carnival games based on Krishna leelas such toppling the butter hundy, feeding hungry Krishna, lifting Govardhan, Finding the hidden cow, memory game on Krishna Leela, Place Krishna between the trees (Damodhar Leela) etc were conducted. 60+ kids eagerly participated in the carnival games and enjoyed it. It was a fun-filled evening with the divine presence of the Lord.
