In the last year, Gopa Kuteeram (GK) classes and activities happened across seven centers in the Bay Area with a participation of over 75 students. These weekly Zoom classes were conducted by an enthusiastic team of volunteers. In addition, the Bay Area GK Chapter also initiated 3 news clubs – Sampradaya bhajan, Harikatha, and Sloka.
The celebration in culmination of the year-long classes was a fulfilling and extensive annual event spanning six Saturday evenings, starting from the second week of April and concluding in the final week of May. The Gopa Kuteeram kids presented a wide variety of programs on various topics from Srimad Bhagavatam, thematic presentations like “Kannan Magizhgindran “ (Krishna is happy when..), “Mahamantra is indeed our lifeline”, an art audio presentation on Ramayana, Spiritual geography covering many kshetras, along with the recital of various bhajans, Gopika Geetam and Hanuman Chalisa.
Hari Katha club kids presented their katha on three great Mahatmas – Sant Tukaram, Sant Meera Bai and Sant Purandaradasar. Sampradaya bhajan kids presented Ashtapatis, Tarangams, Abhangs and Madhurageethams. Sloka club children presented slokas from Sri Swamiji’s Premika Varada ashtakam, along with an exposition of its meaning.
Kids presented each of these with great enthusiasm, interest and dedication, a direct result of the encouragement and example of a great set of volunteers and parents. It was sheer joy for the audience to enjoy six Saturdays of this program by these little kids and young adults.
Bay Area Gopa Kuteeram chapter earnestly prays to Sri Swamiji to always inspire and guide them in this noble journey and hopes to conduct many such grand events in the future.
