Nama Sankirtan at Houston Rath Yatra

Members from Houston GOD satsang conducted a short Nama sankirtan and bhajan session in the presence of the deities of Sri Jagannatha, Sri Balabhadra and Sri Subhadra during the annual Houston Rath Yatra festival on June 30, on invitation by the Orissa Cultural Center. The festival usually attracts over 1000 people and has the traditional chariot pulling of the deities along with several cultural performances.

GOD’s Nama sankirtan began with Mahamantra chanting, following which a few kirtans composed by HH Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji were sung. Sri Jeevanji of Houston GOD then spoke briefly about the greatness and effectiveness of the Mahamantra. The session concluded with a mass prayer and Mahamantra chanting.

Houston GOD/Namadwaar also put up a booth at the cultural festival where free bottled water was given away to all the attendees, Mahamantra CDs, stickers and magnets were given out, and information about GOD and Houston Namadwaar were disseminated.
