By the immense grace of Thakurji and Sri Guru Maharaj, GOD Orlando and Nandis of Navarasa Academy jointly celebrated Divya Namam and Radha Kalyanam in Orlando, Florida from October 17th to Oct 20, 2019. The four-day program hosted by Nandini ji/Sankar ji included several individual events and was a grand success!
The program started by invoking Sri Guru Maharaj and Lord Ganesha for giving us the strength to conduct the program successfully. GOD Orlando team lead by Mythili ji completed the first 18 Ashtapadis, Madhurageetams and Namavalis during the initial three days. The rest of the Astapadis were sung on the Radha Kalyanam event. The singers were accompanied by Nithin Sankar on Mridangam/Kanjira and Surya Sankar on Mridangam. Nagarajan ji performed puja offering to the Lord.
The fourth day, which was the main event of the program, was led by bhagavathas from South Florida who conducted the events in a traditional Tanjore/Kumbakonam/Alangudi format. The percussion team was led by Nandis of Navarasa Academy. The morning was dedicated to Radha Madhava Puja, Namavali, Thodaya Mangalam, Guru Keerthanams, Ashtapathis followed by Divya Namam, where children and adults took turns to dance around Bhagawan. The afternoon was dedicated to events related to Radha kalyanam in an elaborate and beautiful traditional way. The program ended with Anjaneyar utsav and mangalam.
About 75 and 125 devotees participated in the morning and afternoon events respectively, and the entire place and atmosphere was vibrating with the divine names! About a dozen GOD volunteers prepared prasadam typical of Kalyana Utsavams for the Lord. We pray unto Guru Maharaj and Thakurji for more and more Utsavs such as this one, and fill us with bhakti and opportunities to do more and more kainkarya towards Sri Guru Maharaj and Thakurji.
