Sri Swamiji’s Answers to Questions Asked by Devotees

Question 1:
Many people state that the world is heading towards a very deteriorated state. What do you have to say about it?

Answer 1:
During the Puranic period, we read about hindrances caused by numerous demons to people and ascetics. Even in historical times, we get to know about a lot of violence and tyranny. In my opinion, good and bad have come as a mixed bag at all times in this world. During some periods, their ratio could vary.

Question 2:
While being involved in spiritual practices and continuing the process of it, there comes a feeling of drowsiness on some days. Why is that ?

Answer 2:
Mind sometimes holds on to rajasic practices. At that moment, thoughts arise in us towards accomplishing something. When satvik impressions are in command, sadhanas (spiritual practices) get more and more intense.  When tamasic impressions are in control, this kind of emptiness surfaces. By continuing the external sadhanas uninterruptedly, this situation will change.

Question 3:
Those who are involved in spiritual practices should not use other people’s belongings. What is the reason behind it?

Answer 3:
Waves of thoughts keep coming from everybody. It impacts the belongings that they use. While we use those, it might hinder our spiritual practices.  Of those, most importantly, the money and food that we get from others will create a huge impact.
