Cherished Memoirs 93 – My Guru As I See Him
This series chronicles sweet experiences recounted by the devotees of HH Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji as well as some divine experiences of Sri Swamiji himself. These articles are translations from the series “Madhuramaana Mahaneeyar” that is published every month in Madhuramurali Tamil monthly magazine.
This month’s article is by Smt. Jayanthi Janakiraman, from Madhuramurali magazine, Jul 1997 issue.
Krishna Comes Home
There is a Mahathma named Ammaalu Ammal, living in Kumbakonam. Widowed at a very young age, she devoted her entire life to Sri Krishna’s service. She has composed over 10,000 kirtans. Sri Hari from our Kumbakonam Satsang lives nearby Sri Ammaalu Ammal’s residence and often used to participate in the festivities that go on there.
Once Sri Hari’s wife had a dream. In that dream appeared the Sri Krishna who was being celebrated in Ammaalu Ammal’s home, and said repeatedly, “I want to come to your home”. HE also said that HE was very hungry. Sri Hari relayed this dream to the Krishna bhaktha (Ammaalu Ammal) and she ordained that Sri Hari should take up the catering expenses for that year’s utsav. Upon completion of the Utsav, when she was giving the Tulsi leaves as prasad, a small Krishna’s moorthy fell in Sri Hari’s hands inadvertently.
Sri Ammaalu Ammal also said, “Sri Krishna wants to go with you. Take Him home with you.” Recently in Kumbakonam, during Sri Maha Periyava’s Jayanthi celebrations, our Swamiji stayed in Sri Hari’s residence, did His ablutions, and had meals. This made me feel like the dream that Sri Hari’s wife had, became true.
