Houston Namadwaar celebrated the first anniversary of the opening of Sri Aishwarya Srinivasa Perumal Temple (Darshana Pratishttai) on January 29th. About 60 devotees came together to celebrate the anniversary of this special occasion with kirtans, Mahamantra, and prayers for another auspicious year.
The next major event at the Sri ASP temple was the mass prayer on Feb 11th. The event was filled with the joy and celebration. Around 60 people joined the celebration. Some devotees had the fortune of chanting the 12th chapter of the 12th Skanda of Srimad Bhagavatam as well as the last four chapters of Srimad Bhagavad Gita. A special katha was given by Sri Narayan ji, a disciple of Sri Swamiji. The event concluded with a half hour of blissful nama chanting.
The final event of the month was the special Govardhana Puja in Katy, TX. Over 200 devotees came to witness the grand moment of Bhagavan lifting the Govardhana hill. The event was celebrated with the re-telling and re-enactment of this event as well as kirtans and stotras offered by Gopa Kuteeram and Krishna’s Cottage youth. The event concluded with prayers to Bhagavan for his protection all the time. It was truly an auspicious occasion.
