Sri Narasimha Jayanthi Celebrations at Houston Namadwaar

On May 17, Narasimha Jayanthi was celebrated at Namadwaar. In the morning tirumanjanam was performed to the lovely deities of Sri Premika Varadan and Madhuri Sakhi and to the Guru Padukas (as it was Swati nakshatra). The deities were adorned in beautiful new clothes and decorated grandly. In the evening, the chapter from Srimad Bhagavatam elaborating on Narasimha avatara was first recited. Then a number of kirtans of Sri Swamiji and Sri Ammalu Ammal on Lord Narasimha were rendered. The meaning of a couple of songs of Sri Ammalu Ammal was discussed, and Sri Ramaswamyji also spoke about the greatness of this saint, who was a great devotee of Lord Narasimha. Finally, Prahlada Stuti, the song of praise that young Prahlada extols Lord Narasimha with, was sung by all the devotees in unison. Special neivedyam of panakam and curd rice was offered.
