Sri Rama Navami Celebrations in Bay Area, CA

Bay Area GOD Chapter celebrated Sri Rama Navami in a very grand manner on Saturday and Sunday, April 8th and 9th 2017. Sundara Kanda Parayanam was recited and the divine descent of Lord Rama was celebrated with the rendition of kirtans on Lord Rama composed by Sri Swamiji. Sunday April 9th 2017 marked the auspicious day of Panguni Uthram and Seetha Kalyanam-the divine wedding between Lord Rama and Sita took place at the residence of Sri.Nandakumar and Smt.Lalitha Nandakumar in San Ramon from 3pm to 7pm. The divine wedding celebrations commenced with Sampradaya Bhjan style with Thodaya Mangalam, Guru Kirtans and Ashtapadi. Then the couple were invited into the wedding hall with Harathi and Kalyana Ashtapadi was sung. Followed by this, the traditional wedding with Choornikai and pravaram were recited. Amidst the chanting of Mangalashtakam and Mangalya Dharanam, the divine wedding took place. Close to 40 members took part in the satsangs.
