With the grace of Maharanyam HH Sri Muralidhara Swami Ji, NJ GOD family celebrated His 57th Jayanthi.
Celebrations started at Ridgewood, NJ on November 10th Saturday at 3 pm in the presence of Sri Swami Jis Holy pAdhukAs. Mahamantra was chanted from 3 pm to 4:30 pm.
This was followed by the singing of Madhura Gitams and Guru Kirtans. As each Guru Kirtan was sung, a humble attempt was made by each attendee to explain how Guru Maharaj’s smarana / gripping thoughts were poured out through the compositions. Similarly, as each Madhura Gitam was sung, devotees took turns to attempt to elucidate the feeling (bhAvam) Guru Maharaj would have had while composing those songs. Of these arulmAmazhai, santhatham sevitham, veezhndhavar endrum songs still reverberate in our hearts.
Following the madhura gitams, Sri Prakash Ji gave a talk on pAdhukA pattAbishekam from vAlmiki rAmayanam and highlighted how rAma had extreme compassion and caring for Bharatha and blessed him with pAdhukAs like how the Lord blesses a devotee. Similarly, the divinity of Sri Swami Ji’s pAdhukAs were felt through the dedication and love with which the host family has surrendered to Sri Swami Ji’s pAdhukAs. 17 devotees attended the celebrations. It was indeed a blessing to spend our time thinking about Sri Swami Ji as a collective Satsang family.
Satsang ended at 8 pm with the singing of kaliyayum bali kollum, Maha prasAdam and celebration of Sri Swami Ji’s birth on Diwali with firecrackers!
