Global Organization for Divinity volunteers participated in Love to Share Foundation America’s 3rd annual Life and Soul health fair which was conducted at Namadwaar Dallas on 21st September 2019. The event started off with prayers at the lotus feet of our Madhuri Saki Sametha Sri Premika Varadan and Our Guru Maharaj Sri Muralidhara Swamiji for their causeless mercy and grace which is the basis for this noble endeavor.
Volunteers set up different stations for Registration, Height/Weight measurements to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI), Blood Pressure monitoring, Blood Glucose monitoring, Flu vaccination, CPR demonstration, Consultations with Doctors, Bike Helmet giveaway. And volunteers also made signs and posters, displayed them outside the venue to let people know about the event.
Around 25 people benefited by taking part in the event, they got their biometric screening done, 16 of them opted to receive the flu vaccination, which was provided by Nurse Practitioner Elizabeth Reddiar NP and Nurse Viji Ramakrishnan RN. Participants were educated based on their biometric screening and further consultations provided by Dr.Arthi Rajagopal. Nurse Practitioner Gigi Phillips NP and Nursing faculty from West Coast University Ms.Kamal MSN demonstrated how to save lives by doing CPR ( Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) to all adults, teens, and children present. Participants were educated on the need to be safe while riding bicycles and bike helmets were given away. The participants also received various educational materials for health promotion.
The participants conveyed their gratitude as it was very useful and timely to receive these services. Our volunteers Renu, Shwetha, Pranav, Sharada, Advaith, Sivani, Arthi, Ravi, Sankar, Viji, Lakshmi and Vara Senapathi are also very grateful for this opportunity.
