Meditation Program at a Houston Yoga Center

With Sri Swamiji’s blessings, a meditation program was conducted by GOD at the Houston Yoga and Ayurvedic Wellness Center in Cypress, TX on Friday, June 24th, 2011. The participants included a few Yoga enthusiasts and some Houston satsang members. Sriram Ramanujam of Houston GOD team started the session with “Kalaiye sundarakaram…” and explained the importance of Guru dhyanam. He then went on to speak about importance of meditation, quietening the mind and its benefits. He emphasized that chanting the Mahamantra was independent of religion or faith; that one could continue to follow their own philosophy but adding Mahamantra to it will support and enhance each person’s spiritual progress.

15 minutes of Mahamantra was then chanted in a slow, meditative tune by all the participants, who clearly enjoyed the vibrations. Then Sriramji also walked the participants through the 6-3-2 meditation technique and encouraged them to chant the Mahamantra 11 times in the morning and in the night, while giving them several positive reasons for what would happen as a result. The session ended with prayers for general peace and for their center to be successful. The “Goodness to Godliness” DVD of Sri Swamiji was presented to the Center owner, Sharon Kapp.

The program was arranged by Laxmi Mahesh, a Houston satsang member. The Yoga center was very happy and requested GOD to conduct similar sessions regularly. GOD will be conducting meditation sessions at the Yoga center on the 4th Friday of every month.
