By the immense grace and compassion of Sri Swamiji, Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated in a very grand manner as a 3 day long utsav. The Utsav started on Saturday, August 27 2016 and all the devotees came together to joyfully celebrate ‘Nandotsav’- the divine descent of Lord Krishna. The celebrations included Srimad Bhagavata Parayanam, where the chapters pertaining to Lord Krishna’s descent were read. This was followed by Madhuragitam rendition, Fremont Gopakuteeram children’s program and Kollatam. On Sunday, August 28th, the devotees celebrated ‘Govinda Pattabhishekam’, the beautiful divine play of Lord where he was crowned the divine name ‘Govinda’. Chapters pertaining to ‘Govinda Pattabhishekam’ was recited followed by Madhuragitams and concluded with chanting the divine name ‘Govinda’. The events took place at SVCC temple in Fremont, CA and was attended by over 75 devotees.
On Saturday, September 3 2o16, ‘Radha Kalyanam’ the divine wedding of Radha and Krishna was celebrated in a very grand manner at Sri Sai Temple in Pleasanton, CA. The wedding was celebrated in Sampradaya tradition with the singing of Sri Jayadevar’s Ashtapatis and bhajans. More than 75 devotees took part in the divine wedding celebrations.
