By the abundant grace of Sri Swamiji, the Greater Philadelphia Region successfully conducted its third consecutive Summer Camp from July 6–10, 2026, with nine children enthusiastically participating in the five-day camp.
This year’s camp was centered around the theme of Puri Kshetra and Lord Jagannatha. Through stories, chanting, creative activities, and a skit, the children learned about the glory of Puri Kshetra and how Lord Jagannatha, along with His Parivar, came to reside there.
Each day was filled with a variety of engaging activities, including:
Mahamantra chanting
Kirtans on Lord Jagannatha
Simple yoga
Storytelling
Activity sheets based on the day’s stories
Craft activities, including making Jagannatha Parivar and a chariot
Preparation and practice for a concluding skit
The children participated enthusiastically in all the activities and especially enjoyed the hands-on preparations for the skit. They worked together to create their own props and background displays, bringing the stories they had learned during the week to life.
On the concluding day, the children presented a skit depicting the story of Lord Jagannatha and His Parivar and their connection with Puri Kshetra, beautifully showcasing what they had learned throughout the camp.
The camp primarily included elementary-school-aged children. It was also wonderful to have a middle-school student volunteer who enthusiastically supported the organizing team and helped with the younger children throughout the camp.
By Sri Swamiji’s grace, the five-day camp provided the children with a joyful opportunity to learn, create, chant, perform, and experience our rich spiritual and cultural heritage together.
