By Sri Swamiji’s grace, the 4th Annual Puranava Indian Art and Cultural Fest, organized by Global Organization for Divinity Bay Area, California, was held on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at Lila Bringhurst Elementary school in Fremont, CA. The event was well received by everyone and close to 200 attendees attended from all cultural backgrounds from around the greater San Francisco Bay Area, through the entire day to celebrate India’s rich heritage.
Puranava, the flagship event of Global Organization for Divinity, show-cased vibrant arts and cultural forms from different parts of India and greatly helps to strengthen the connection of our children to our roots. Rangoli, Fabric Painting, Vedic Math, Ramayana Charades on the journey of Ramayana, flower making, Shiva linga making, Warli Art, Lippan Art, fabric painting, traditional games and Henna sessions greatly helped the attendees discover the beauty and diversity of Indian artistic traditions with hands-on workshops.
Children also experienced the rich cultural heritage through kids friendly competitions. Heritage Fancy Dress, Heritage Quiz, Sloka and Samskruthi Art competitions were conducted for all ages. Close to 50 children participated in all the youth competitions. Awards for all the competitions were distributed that evening.
A special Puppet show was conducted for the first time and was immensely engaging to the kids. In addition, a cultural performance session was introduced as well. Many children showcased their wonderful talents in classical music and dance, captivating the audience with their performances and adding a special cultural touch to the event. New India Bazaar, Verka, Coconut Hill and Vande Bharat were the sponsors for the Puranava event this year.
