With the immense blessing of our Madhuri Sakhi Sametha Premika Varadhan and our Guru Maharaj, Virginia Namadwaar celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami from August 16th – 25th, 2019.
As part of Janmashtami celebrations, devotees did Srimad Bhagavatha Parayanam with great devotion, around 25 devotees eagerly participated in the entire parayanam. In the evening children from Virginia, Canada and Boston did Bhagavatha Katha from Parikshith Charithram to Rukmini Vivah.
On Sunday August 25th devotees celebrated Krishna Janmashtami. August 25th coincides with the birth of our Radha Krishna. Yugala Sarkar was blessed to Virginia Namadwaar by Sri Swamiji on August 25th, 2016.
The satsang started with prabodhanam. Our Guru Maharaj in one of his keertans says about so many different things that we can do to please or make our dear Krishna happy. On Janmashtami satsang it was a humble effort by the devotees to please the Lord and seek his blessings.
“THEERTHA SEVAI YAL KANNAN MAGHIZHGIRAN”
Special tirumanjanam was done to our lordships while reciting the Maha mantra and Prabandha Pasurams . this was followed by adorning the lordships with new vastrams and jewels.
“VANNA MALARGALAL KANNAN MAGHHIZGIRAN”
Many garlands, handmade by devotees with different colorful and fragrant flowers were offered to the divine couple It was a visual treat to see them embellished with flowers and jewels. Special aarthi was performed after alankaram.
“BAGAVATHATHAL KANNAN MAGIZHGIRAN”
Relevant chapters from Srimad Bagawatham pertaining to Sri Krishna Jananam, Govinda Pattabishekam and Rukmini Kalyanam were recited from the Dasama skandam.
“NANDOSTAVAM”
Satishji , as Nandababa placed little krishna in a decorated cradle and all gopas and gopis present there sang and danced around with joy celebrating the lords avataram. he also enjoyed the butter and bakshana prasadam offered to him.
“GOVINDA PATTABISHEKAM.”
“Pala vidha annam pazham bakshanangaludan”…..yes, a beautiful Giridhara lal was made with fruits and other prasad items prepared. As the devotees blissfully chanted the Govinda Nama, a shower of flowers was done to our divine couple, to mark the coronation of Gopalan as GOVINDA.
“KEERTHANATHINAL KANNAN MAGIZGIRAN……”
There is no easier way to please the lord other than singing his praises. Starting with Guru kirtans, Thodaya mangalam and many Madhurageethams relating to Avataram, Nandostavam and Govinda Pattabishekam, Yugala keertans, Namavalis and Anjaneya songs were rendered. Sampradaya keertans and Kalyana Ashtapathis were also rendered.
“SARANAGATHIYAL KANNAN MAGHIZGIRAN..”
Lord never fails to protect those who surrender unto him. our Guru Maharaj explains this through his prayer keertans. Prarthana Geethams, were sung after Rukmini Kalyanam. Maha arthi was performed while singing the kaliyayum song.
“ANNADHANATHIL KANNAN MAGIZGIRAN….”
Lunch- maha prasad was served to all the 30 plus devotees who attended the satsang. It was a blissful celebration.
